Be Fierce with Purple Women's Scarves

When it comes to women’s scarves, purple is a color that is not for the faint hearted. It is for the women who have a fierce sense of style, those who can carry a kind of style that is loud, bold and definitely attention-getting. Purple women’s scarves are for the daring people, I should say.

Sienna Miller, Liv Tyler and Rachel Bilson all have something in common. The three have a thing for purple women’s scarves. And they own the exact same purple scarf. This is a case of who wears it best. Sienna wears it with her grunge ensemble that consists of denim jeans, leather jacket and winter boots. Rachel keeps it casual as well with her jeans and a wool jacket. Liv decides to go girly with it as she wears it with a black dress, black stockings and blue boots.

Who wears it better?

The bottom line is: women’s scarves were made to complement any outfit that you have. Even when they had the same purple scarf, each girl pulled off three very different looks.

Look Hot Even When it is Raining with Women's Scarves

It usually takes a lot of inspiration to make me want to dress up when it rains. I think it is such a hassle. I go put on the most amazing outfit and then I would still just end up getting drenched when I go some place where even the biggest umbrella cannot protect me from the rain splashing all over me. I also ask myself if there is even a need to bother with blow-drying my hair when it would still get puffy and sticky when I go out when it rains.  I mean, I love the rain only when I am not outside of my house, really.

Although, this gets me into thinking how some people do dress up when it rains. I envy those people who can pull off the hottest outfits even if they would most probably get soaked at the end of the day. Maybe some people enjoy dressing up during the rainy season. Do you think so? After all, out come the fiercest rain boots, rain coats, and the most practical accessory of all – women’s scarves. Layering up is the most fun way to go during this season. Rather, it is the only way to go really. It is just only a matter of how you do it in style. Some people never cease to amaze me.

Sienna Miller, fresh as spring.

Be rocker chic (and warm) with women's scarves like Kate Moss.

Sharing an umbrella with her beau Penn Badgley, Blake Lively looks smokin’ in her outfit (even if she is completely covered up). Women’s scarves make you warm AND hot!

Lindsay Lohan Likes it Long with Women's Scarves

Lindsay Lohan or La Lohan as she is usually called by the paps, particularly loves wearing long women’s scarves.

Long women’s scarves are all about its flowing fabric which gives a beautiful touch to any outfit.  Because it is so long, it can be practically worn in any way you like, really. You can keep it long as it is by just letting it hang around your neck and let both ends dangle there loosely. You can also tie it up around your neck to give your look a statement piece. Also, you can clinch it and make it into a belt. The loose ends will swiftly move in your every step and create that wonderful body that your outfit sometimes need. There are so many kinds of scarves out there that it is simply perfect for all seasons. Accessorizing with it does not even take much of your time, only a minute or two and you are good to go with a more fabulous outfit.

Rachel Bilson has a Thing for Women's Scarves

Rachel Bilson is no stranger to looking oh-so-radiant even if she probably has rushed through her usual dressing up rituals. Her secret: women’s scarves. Scan through tabloid magazine pictures of her or try to Google her and you will probably see her wearing her beloved women’s scarves. She either wears it as part of her edgy boho look or she just simply loves to style up her clothes with a quick drape around her neck and she is good to go.

Women’s scarves are well-loved by so many celebrities. I do not think I will ever run out of stars to mention when asked who among these celebrities have the greatest respect for what women’s scarves can do to anyone’s outfit. When it comes to women’s scarves, everyone seems to agree that it is quite frankly one of those never-to-leave-the-house-without kinds of thing

Women's Scarves for Reality Stars

The past decade has seen the rise of reality shows. Some people might think it stupid and nonsense but there are a lot of people who actually enjoy watching these kinds of shows. They are so entertaining and all the drama make it even more interesting and fun. Of course, no one really knows for sure if some reality shows are rigged and scripted. However, most people do not care because what matters is they get entertained.

The stars of our beloved (or hated) reality shows love coming out and be seen everywhere. They are not exactly full-pledged stars yet but they are very popular in their own rights. The paparazzi even constantly follow them around. The most important factor is that they should know how to dress the part. And accessorize as well; and they do with women’s scarves.

Kim Kardashian's loves women's scarves.

Paris Hilton and her cover-up scarf.

Lauren Conrad in a green women's scarf.

America's Next Top Model Shoots with Women's Scarves

Each one of us has that ‘model’ deep within us. You probably would not admit it but you actually secretly wish that you can be as photogenic, gorgeous and so perfect as those models you see on print ads, commercials, runways of New York to Sao Paolo and even as you scan through the pages of the latest issue of Vogue magazine.  True, not all of us can make that inner model surface. How fortunate are we to have Tyra Banks – supermodel, Victoria’s Secret Angel, host and creator of the globally popular and wildly entertaining show America’s Next Top Model.

Taking note of the fashion and the creativity of each episode of every season, there was one photoshoot that I would like to especially mention.  It was in episode 5 of Cycle 13. The shoot used women’s scarves as their key element. I could not help but reiterate how beautiful those scarves looked! Unbelievably fabulous! That episode confirmed the status of these women’s scarves. When it comes to versatility and the most practical and the easiest to use, hands down, women’s scarves take all the credit.

Fashion Accessory on Gossip Girl - Women's Scarves

There is always that one TV show which we all love for something other than the storyline itself. Before, it was the fashion (more than the sex) in Sex and the City; the rise of Manolo Blahniks and the Cosmopolitan drink or the dirty Martini. Or the dresses in every weekly parties of The O.C. Now, it is the fabulousness of the Upper East Side in Gossip Girl, where they all live in hotel suites and occasionally, owning the hotel itself.

Gossip Girl features the lives of high school kids in uniforms that barely look like actual uniforms, or the school they go to are not so strict about the dress code since everyone appears wearing a unique interpretation and execution of the plaid skirt and white top.

One very popular accessory that all of Constance’s girls apparently love are women’s scarves.

From Blair, the queen bee of the all-girls school, to Little J, the rebellious freshman who tries to fight the status quo and disrupt the social hierarchy that is ever present under the reign of only a true Waldorf, see how they make use of women’s scarves to turn their “uniform” (if you can even call it that) into something high fashion and now setting the trend for all Gossip Girl fanatics.

Women's Scarves in London Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week has come to a close. Now all eyes are on London. It is the second leg of a month long fashion extravaganza. From September 17-21st, another set of fabulous Spring/Summer 2011 collections are on display. September is, after all, the busiest month (ask Anna Wintour).

London is a city where the weather is usually wet and dreary.  But that is not exactly a bad thing because out comes the rain boots, the trench coats and lots and lots of women’s scarves.

Women’s scarves are one of the most important accessories to wear to London Fashion Week. You really have to choose carefully because some scarves might be out of style already and you would not want to go dress up in last season’s trends, right?

Globe-trotting with Women's Scarves

Celebrities travel all the time. One minute they are walking the streets of L.A., the next day they pop up somewhere in Europe. Of course, TMZ and the like are always there ready to greet them. The paparazzi constantly snap pictures of them coming out of airports, jet setting and landing all over the world.

That is why you all probably wonder how celebrities can just appear perfect and not even the slightest haggard-looking or jetlagged. In fact, they all look oh so fabulous with their designer shades up to their envy-inducing footwear. And if there is one other thing that is ever present besides the glaring flashes, it is that accessory that celebrities rarely go anywhere without – women’s scarves.

Women’s scarves are so ideal to pack for travels abroad or anywhere else. They are so easy to fold and they are so versatile that they can go with any other outfit that you brought with you. See how simple it is? Now you know why celebrities are usually seen wearing women’s scarves on those OK! or US weekly magazines as well.

Supermodels and Women's Scarves

It is surprising that supermodels are like shape-shifters, from fancy runway mash-ups to street chic experts, they do not differ from fashion wannabes.  Walking down the runway and strutting the Fashion avenue make no difference to them.

Women's scarves are no passe to hypermodels and supermodels alike.  Amongst the beautiful fashion pages, adverts and magazine covers, these goddesses maintain a rather simple wardrobe (mostly composed of the basics like any ordinary human being)-accessorising with women’s scarves. They do not simply wear these women’s scarves; it is part of their "normal" life.

Supermodels are just like us. They admire fashion and beautiful clothes, but when it comes down to it, they love even the simple luxuries in life, especially what women’s scarves bring to any outfit for any occasion, be it for Paris Fashion Week or merely for a walk in the park.

Be Boho Chic Women's Scarves

Bohemian or Bohemianism refers to the non-traditional lifestyles of impoverished artists, writers, actors and musicians from France. Boho chic is a term coined to define the female fashion that comes from bohemian and hippie influences.

The “Siennas” is an eponym that is being applied to the actress Sienna Miller for her being instrumental in making Boho fashionable. Other celebrities like the supermodel Kate Moss, Nicole Richie and the Olsen Twins are all synonymous to Boho Chic.

One element of this style, aside from the floaty skirts, cowboy boots and hobo bags, is accessorizing with women’s scarves. This adds to the folk-ness of the style as well as being a factor in making boho chic much edgier a.k.a boho-rock.

Women’s scarves can make any outfit more chic and high fashion. Having it incorporated with boho means looking less like a sloppy attempt at it and more like effortless fashion.

Go bohemian with women’s scarves. You do not have to spend much. All you have to do is layer up.

Hollywood Celebrities Love Women's Scarves

Celebrities are what make trends ever abundant and forever changing. Because of maximum exposure that these models, actors, popstars and even reality stars bring to each It bag or jeggings or whatnot, the whole world get to see and admire that latest hot item that everyone just have to have that fad as well.

One popular fashion trend in particular is the scarf. Gone are the days when women’s scarves are supposed to be used to shield the likes of Grace Kelly from the prying eyes of the press and the aggressive pursuit of photographers hounding her every move. Now, women’s scarves are beyond being just a trend. It has become an almost basic accessory to dressing up for most Hollywood celebrities.

Women’s scarves are frequently photographed being worn by celebrities as they get coffee from Starbucks, shop at Park Avenue, dine at the Ivy or even on the Red Carpet. These women’s scarves compliment, complete or simply add detail and more flare to their already fabulous and Vogue-acclaimed dresses.

Bright colored leggings, tights, jeggings, high waist pants have come and gone but women’s scarves are definitely here to stay.

Women’s Scarves in DKNY S/S 2011

The New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 came well under way starting from September 9, 2010. All the major magazine editors as well as Hollywood A-listers flocked the Lincoln Center to witness the unveiling of the new collections from roughly 94 designers. The fashion industry and all fashion bloggers wrote and tweeted vigorously as the season’s hottest trends were presented and photographers and journalists busily snapped and took notes for each day’s documentation.

On the third day of NYFW, on what could be a global successful collection commercially, DKNY showed a strong and retail-friendly assortment of clothes. What piqued my interest was Donna Karan’s use of women’s scarves as accessories and part of her S/S 2011 showing.

As nymag.com’s review of the collection, it was “pure Times Square” and the use of women’s scarves meant that “we'd be touring the city in the company of an exchange student from Paris”.  The silken square was called the DKNY Heritage scarf and the designer featured it “as a dress, a top, and naturally, as a scarf knotted into a neat band around the neck, its ends trailing down the back”.

Women’s scarves being featured in DKNY is an amazing feat since there have not been any other designer who have incorporated scarves in their respective collections. Anybody who is a scarf lover would absolutely salivate at the sight of those gorgeous women’s silk scarves being adorned and fashioned in almost every way imaginable. I myself am lusting over DKNY’s women’s scarves.

Women’s scarves are fit for any occasion. Having them featured in NYFW is a reminder that women’s scarves really are great accessories to complete any look. Congratulations to Donna Karan’s DKNY for having a gorgeous collection.

Women's Scarves: All About Versatility

Women’s scarves are the most versatile piece of accessory that everyone should have. There are so many kinds of women’s scarves right now that you can have so many options, depending on your personal taste and style. The other thing that makes women’s scarves so appealing is it is really easy to use. There are so many ways to style them that even if you use the same scarf everyday but incorporating a different technique, it would still make your outfit look fresh and chic.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Having women’s scarves in your wardrobe can add a great deal of depth and an almost endless variety of outfits. Women’s scarves can even take you from day to night. It is versatility at its best, really. If you are usually the type to wear jeans and a plain t-shirt, now you can add some pizzazz to your whole look by accessorizing with a scarf. You can use women’s cashmere scarves or silk scarves, the choice is yours.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

In any case, women’s scarves come in handy. You can tie it in a knot, drape it around your neck, use it as a belt, adorn it in your hair, use it as a shawl, or you can add some glam to your bag. You can do all these with just one scarf. Can you imagine how much cash, time and effort you can save with women’s scarves? It is absolutely brilliant!

The three important things to remember in dressing up are: creativity, versatility and women’s scarves. With these, nothing can go wrong and you can be well on your way to becoming the next Vogue cover girl.

Scarf Nostalgia

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This is one of the looks from a past Blumarine collection.

Sorry, I just can't help it! It's Fashion Week and I'm feeling so nostalgic; browsing through past collections make me so excited about the whole week and it is just the second day.

This Blumarine scarf is making me really giddy about the fashion that the Spring 2011 brings! I adore it so much I may just go out dressed like this (I'm not so sure about the length of that though).

Scarves + Blumarine + Natasha Poly = LOVE.

Scarves on Fashion Week

It's that time of the year again! I am sure everyone is getting really antsy waiting for New York Fashion Week. I mean, come on, who isn't excited to see the unveiling of the Spring 2011 collections of designers who have worked so hard for their fashion moments?

As a prelude to the upcoming Fashion Week (it starts in a few hours!), here are some of the looks from the past Fall 2010 collections that have displayed one of the most important accessory of the fall season - the scarf.

This is my personal fave! It reminds me of Sex and the City 2.

Scarves on Sex and the City

Sex and the City is a cult! Any woman would attest to this. I, for one, love the series and the movies (flop or not, I don't care). It has done to me what Cosmopolitan has given me as well. Women empowerment at its best.

What I love most about the series are the witty lines. They are so shallow yet so smart; just the way I like it. Here is one of my favorite SATC quote from the final episode:

Carrie:(Last Line) Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous.

But there is another thing that I also super love about it - the fashion. Really, don't you wish you can walk all over Manhattan with a pair of Manolo Blahnik and a gorgeous dress? I know I would.

Like in the second Sex and the City Movie, there were a lot of mouthwatering outfits there, plus the accessories! That was a beautiful scarf Sarah Jessica Parker wore! It was perfect for the summer look.

Kate Moss Can Make a Dress out of a Scarf, Really?

Kate Moss isn't much of a designer but she said she can make a scarf out of a dress. Really? Wow! Of course, I am not at all surprised since, after all, she is Kate Moss and anything she touches turns to gold.

Here is THE Kate Moss wearing, not a dress out of a scarf unfortunately, but a scarf. It completes her rock and roll vibe.

Scarves: A Wardrobe Staple

Every one of us has that one perfect go-to outfit, may it be an LBD, skinny jeans, or a basic white tee. Celebrities themselves have a wardrobe staple. http://shine.yahoo.com/event/the-thread/the-wardrobe-staples-stars-cant-live-...

(Watch 1:15-1:24)

Disney star Selena Gomez' wardrobe essential is a scarf. She has hundreds of them in her closet, she says.

I'm pretty sure she's not the only celebrity who collects scarves. Nicole Richie (the queen of scarves), Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan are also regularly photographed wearing scarves.

Queen of Scarves

I can't help myself! I just had to do another post on Nicole Richie.

She is really the Queen of Scarves. It seems like she doesn't go anywhere without wearing one. Plus, her style is so flawless! She can go from high fashion to bohemian chic. Nicole Richie has absolutely mastered the art of tying and draping a scarf.

Hmm, I wonder how big her scarf collection is. Seeing as she accessorize almost all her outfits with a scarf, I am pretty sure it can go from a thousand to a million! *Sigh* Envy!

Nicole Richie's Trademark Headscarves

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

When I think of headscarves, I immediately imagine Nicole Richie walking the streets of Hollywood wearing what has probably become her trademark.

She has this bohemian/hippie chick style which even the Olsen twins could not perfectly emulate. Scarves, maxi dresses, big shades and just her over all presence complete the whole look. If you Google her, you are most likely going to see tons of pictures of her wearing headscarves. In the beach, trolling with her son, getting a latte, the paparazzi almost always snaps her wearing it on her head.

If only I could tame my hair, I would love to wear headscarves all the time like Mrs. Madden.

Peace out!

Summer Scarves

I think of summer scarves as something fun and it greatly reminds me of days spent running around a field of grass. Thus, I find it very ironic that the song "Summer Scarves" by Butch Walker is more emotional than happy.

Summer scarves are meant to be a fabulous addition to our accessories during the hot days e.g. flaunting our toned summer bods in just our bikinis and a lightweight scarf. It is so versatile that you can use it as a cover up, a headscarf, or you can even tie it on your tote bag! Personally, I find it very effective and useful when I go hit the beach. It is sexy, chic and dramatic even (just like the song; watch the video).

Yeah, well, I have contradicting tastes sometimes. Don't we all? In this case, I love the gloomy song of Butch Walker, although I'm not usually one for emo songs. But anyways, I sure love scarves more!

Any objections?

Women's Scarf Collection

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

If I had as big a collection as that in the picture, I would be the happiest woman on earth. Although I would love to add a sea of shoes as well and I would probably die happy. But anyways, really, if I had that at the back of my not-so-much of a walk-in closet, I'll wear a scarf everyday, or two scarves if the outfit permits it.

I mean, come on, just look at the size of that! It is so mouthwatering that I really can't even decide what my one favorite scarf is out of all those hanging there. You would say the same, wouldn't you?

Women's scarves are so versatile and brilliant that it can dress you up or make your look casual or rugged. The easiest and by far the most popular for me is layering a scarf over my boring t-shirt and faded skinny jeans. Even on my blah days, I can at least tell myself that I look decent even if I feel horrible.

Scarves are also my solution to everything. When I get caught off guard by friends who suddenly just turn up my doorstep, inviting me over for some pizza or cocktails, instead of looking kidnapped and obviously unprepared, I simply get a cashmere scarf and style it up and then go with the flow. Amazing, isn't it? That is why I consider it as fashion's greatest gift to all women.

Scarf Shopping

So I went to the mall today to buy some new stuff since I realized over the weekend that my wardrobe needed some update, desperately.

I passed by the accessories department and I was pleasantly surprised that they had a vast collection of cashmere scarves! I even saw one that I loved. The funny thing was I googled that same scarf last week! It was a white fringed scarf with colorful peace sign prints on it.

Coincidence? Nah, I call it fate. Of course, I really had to buy it!

I can't wait to wear it tomorrow!
